9 Removal of disabled aircraft from runways

Under the responsibility of owner or user, coordinated by AD administration.

10 Approaches and Landings

Pilots must clear the runway at the fastest speed allowed by standard operating procedures and in compliance with operational safety, allowing ATC to apply minimum separation on final approach.

All landing aircraft must ensure that the runway has been completely cleared before coming to a complete stop. During landing, the pilot should preferably select an appropriate and feasible rapid exit taxiway (RET) in order to ensure MROT.
RWY 18: Taxiway “B'' or “L”.
Distance from threshold 18 to Taxiway B – LDA Available:
1277.20m
Distance from threshold 18 to Taxiway L – LDA Available:
2168.52m

11 Takeoffs

Pilots must be ready for departure when they reach the holding point. If not, inform the ground control.
- Alignment must be immediate as soon as authorized;
- Start rolling immediately after authorized (maximum reaction time expected: 10 seconds);
- Immediately make the initial call to APP Recife after takeoff, in order to obtain instructions to free the axis from the runway;
- The initial call to the APP after takeoff must be immediate and only observe the following pattern: “RECIFE CONTROL [CALL SIGN]". Do not include any additional information to the aforementioned standard;
- Turboprop and piston aircraft must await radar vectoring or direct clearance to a published waypoint shortly after takeoff; and
- Unless otherwise instructed, pilots are encouraged to take off from the following intersections in order to secure MROT:
RWY 18: Taxiway “B'' - Turboprop Aircraft
Distance from Taxiway B to threshold 36 – TORA Available:
1728.74m
RWY 18: Taxiway “G” or “J'' - General Aviation
Distance from Taxiway G to threshold 36 - TORA Available:
1832.21m
Distance from Taxiway J to threshold 36 - TORA Available:
2300.73m

10 High-Intensity Runway Operations (HIRO)

High-Intensity Runway Operations (HIRO) will be applicable between 1000-1200 UTC,1330-1600 UTC and 1830-2030 UTC. The HIRO application time will be informed via ATIS and may be changed by ATC according to specific demand needs. HIRO allows the reduction of runway occupancy time, providing the optimization of separation between aircraft on final approach, between take-offs and between landings/take-offs, maximizing the use of runway capacity, minimizing the possibility of go-around procedures and reducing waiting time on the ground and during the flight.   Pilots should adjust the landing and take-off to ensure the Minimum Runway Occupancy Time (MROT).

10.1 Approaches and Landings

Pilots must comply with the following speed restrictions during HIRO:
  • Between 170 KT and 150 KT at 6 NM from THR.
  • The speeds assigned by ATC are mandatory.
  • These speeds are applied for ATC separation purposes.
  • The ACFT unable to meet these speeds shall inform the ATC and indicate which speeds may be used.   In the interest of accurate spacing, pilots are requested to comply with speed adjustments as promptly as possible within their own operational constraints, notifying ATC if circumstances require a change of speed as a function of the aircraft performance needs.
Pilots shall clear the runway at the fastest speed allowed by standard operating procedures and in accordance with safety requirements, allowing ATC to apply minimum separation on final approach.

All aircraft landing must ensure that the runway has been completely cleared before a complete stop.    During landing, the pilot must select a suitable and feasible rapid exit taxiway (RET) to ensure the MROT.
Pilots should clear the runway and take-off in taxiways indicated below, or inform the ACC-Recife and/or TWR-Recife if they are not able to comply with this procedure:
  • RWY 18:
    • Taxi Lane "B'' or "L".
    • Available distance from THR 18 to Taxiway B:    988.08 m
    • Available distance from THR 18 to Taxiway L:    1867.38 m

10.2 Take-offs

Aircraft equipped with the DCL system must apply for traffic authorizations by this system.
Pilots should be ready to take-off when they reach the holding point. Otherwise, inform ground control.
Alignment should be immediate as soon as authorized;
Start taxiing immediately after authorized (maximum expected reaction time: 10 seconds);
After take-off and transfer of TWR, immediately make the initial call to APP-Recife in order to obtain instructions for clearing the runway centerline;
The initial call to APP after take-off must be immediate and observe only the following pattern: “RECIFE CONTROL [CALL SIGN]". Do not include any additional information to   the mentioned standard;
Turboprop and piston aircraft must await radar vectoring or direct clearance to a published waypoint immediately after take-off; and
Except when instructed differently, aircraft of reference codes CAT A, B and Turboprop must be configured to take off from the following intersections:
  • RWY 18: Taxiway B
    • Available distance from Taxiway B to threshold 36: 1609.00 m
  • RWY 18: Taxiway G or J
    • Available distance from Taxiway G to threshold 36: 1702.75 m
    • Available distance from Taxiway J to threshold 36: 2185.69 m

In case it is not possible to take off from the above intersections, the pilot must inform at the time of the request for the flight plan authorization. Aircraft of reference code C may also be authorized to take off from the above intersections, upon aircraft request.
